French Cherry Clafoutis
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 pounds cherries
- 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 vanilla bean, seeds scraped
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 4 eggs - room temperature
- 3 1/2 tablespoons salted butter, melted
- 1 packet vanilla sugar (optional)
- Powdered sugar
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400
- Butter 9" tart or pie dish
- In a medium bowl, combine sugar, flour, vanilla bean.
- Gently whisk in milk, eggs, melted butter, & set aside.
- Pack tightly bottom of buttered dish with cherries.
- Carefully pour batter over cherries.
- Sprinkle with vanilla sugar (optional).
- Bake for 30 minutes until Clafoutis is golden browned and puffed up.
- Let cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
